Expansion Ventures is a European deep technology investment fund focused on Aerospace and Defence. We were founded on the conviction that Europe's long-term security and economic resilience depend on its ability to develop, own and operate the critical technologies that underpin its sovereignty. Our fund invests from pre-seed through Series B, writing first cheques into companies that others consider too early, too technical or too niche — because we have the expertise to see what others miss. Our team combines backgrounds in aerospace engineering, defence procurement, venture capital and financial markets, giving us a genuinely differentiated perspective on the sector. We currently manage €145 million across 24 portfolio companies, with investments spanning satellite constellations, in-orbit services, AI-native defence systems, C4ISR, robotics and space data analytics. We do not view ourselves as passive capital providers. Every founder we back gains access to our strategic network of defence primes, government customers, NATO-aligned institutions and co-investors across Europe. We have built strong relationships with the European Commission, national defence ministries and space agencies that help our portfolio companies navigate complex procurement environments. Our investment thesis is rooted in the belief that dual-use technology — systems with both civilian and defence applications — represents the most important and underserved segment of the European venture landscape. The fund benefits from support under the European Union's InvestEU programme, reflecting our commitment to European industrial priorities. We are long-term partners to the entrepreneurs we back, and we measure our success not by the number of investments we make, but by the sovereign capability we help Europe build.
